Regional extent
In the Sarykolsky district of the Northern Pamir, the Upper Cretaceous forms the largest exposures and is most studied in the valley of the Kyzyljik river and along the northern rim of the Rangkul lake basin. This horizon is conditionally correlated with the Tyubegatansk and Karikansai horizons (тюбегатанским и карикансайским горизонтами) of the lower Cenomanian.
